Tasmanian Irrigation project manager Andy Corbould said staff were "swamped with inquiries" and completed a number of applications at the show.
"It's great to see such strong interest in this scheme, which could supply 8600 megalitres of high-reliability summer water throughout the Scottsdale region," he said.
"The water sale is open to anyone who owns or occupies land in the Scottsdale, Bridport, Springfield, Nabowla and Waterhouse districts.
"You don't need to be on the proposed pipeline route to buy water — if you apply for water, we will do our best to bring the pipeline to you."
The one-off, up-front sale price of water entitlements in the scheme is $1400 a megalitre.
Applicants must pay a 10 per cent deposit, with the balance of the purchase price payable on commissioning of the scheme, expected to be in the second half of 2017.
Annual ongoing costs for scheme operations and maintenance and pumping also apply.
But time is running out as water sales close at noon tomorrow.
Mr Corbould said that if sales did not reach the 6450 megalitre threshold, the project may not go ahead.
Tasmanian Irrigation staff will be available at Scottsdale LINC today from 9am to 4pm and tomorrow from 9am to noon to assist landowners with their applications.
