Organiser Adrian Cox said this year would be the first opportunity for spectators to see seven mini-modified tractors from Victoria at work.
"It's the first time we've ever brought them across, normally it's just normal tractors," he said.
"These ones are V8s, all hotted up.
"They're just purpose built tractor pull tractors.
"This is the first time I've ever known them to be in Tassie, these particular ones anyway.
"It's just something different."
The two-day event will also see local competitors battling it out using regular pullers.
Competitors will try to pull a sled the furthest distance over a series of pulls.
Mr Cox said the Deloraine event was the northern-most event of its kind in the state.
"Anyone that's interested in machinery (should come along), anyone that's a bit of a rev-head," he said.
"They don't go fast, but they make a lot of noise and create a lot of power."
The Deloraine Tractor Pull will be held at Red Hills Apex memorial park on December 6 and 7.
Cost is $16, children under 16 are free.
The Apex Club will this year donate $1000 to Give Me 5 for Kids.
