Mr Hall earlier this week pleaded not guilty to eight counts of stealing totalling almost $18,000.
Mr Hall said he took a $9000 cash payment from a former client, but forgot to deposit the money into the company bank account.
In the Launceston Supreme Court this morning, Mr Tucker said he gave Mr Hall several warnings about pocketing client payments before he terminated his employment in 2012.
The defence has accused Mr Tucker of similar practices, however, and claimed he also accepted small amounts of cash for legal advice from ``friends of friends''.
Mr Tucker said ``insignificant'' amounts of money was placed in a ``Christmas fund jar'' to pay for alcohol and food at the firm's Christmas party each year.
The trial before Justice Stephen Estcourt continues.
