IF YOU had one wish before you died, what would it be?

For 81-year-old Manor Gardens resident Elaine Glass, that wish was to ride a Harley-Davidson motorcycle one last time.

The Parkinson’s disease sufferer yesterday fulfilled that vision, with the help of her friends and family.

Mrs Glass sat in the motorcycle’s sidecar while Harley-Davidson enthusiast Simon Hrycyszyn took her for a spin.

A small crowd of family, friends and Manor Gardens staff watched the momentous occasion and were treated to Mrs Glass’s Queen-style wave and bright smile.

Upon her return, Mrs Glass said it was amazing to feel the wind in her hair again and relive one of her favourite memories.

‘‘I’ve always loved the Harleys,’’ she said.

‘‘I used to ride a Harley years ago. My husband and I had an old Indian [motorcycle]. We couldn’t afford a sidecar then, so we just put a box on the side.

‘‘They don’t make them like they used to years ago.’’
