"It is a culmination of all of our backgrounds in music," Peters told X-static.
"Our bassist listens to nothing but '80s hair rock, so he has a unique way of playing the bass, and he and our drummer are very close and in sync with each other.
"That really gives us a tight sound, which is a bit darker than that usual rock sound, but that's with all of our influences, as we all used to play in hard rock/metal bands.
"So we tried to change that writing style into an alternative rock sound, and we think that has led to something that people haven't heard before. Not everyone is going to like it because it is so diverse, but we hope people will give it a chance and have a good listen to it."
The Sydney rock act, which is originally from New Zealand, has just released the album after coming together in 2011 and recording it in 2012.
Peters described the group's on-stage presence as being one that was "very tight, loud and hard hitting". "Everyone has a lot of energy for our live show, as it is the favourite part of our music and the reason that we do this.
"What we want to be doing is playing music, so it is everything for us, and you see that back on stage."
The band will play in Launceston tomorrow night for their second appearance at Club 54.
"It was one of the best shows we have ever played, as everyone in Launceston was so supportive and so excited to see us, and we've never had a better response.
"Everyone was just so friendly and so nice and wanted us to come back, which is why we are.
"Expect it to be a bit of party."
