The group has recently released its second album Ruckers Hill, one which signals a new direction for the group, says keyboard specialist and vocalist Gideon Preiss.
"We made that record [Forever So] throughout 2009 and 2010, but things, and life, do change quickly," Preiss told X-static.
"That's four or five years ago now, and when we made it we'd had very little success or a fan base, or any recognition for the music we were making and in the end we did get that success and that recognition.
"The album did a lot better than we ever imagined and we toured hard for a year-and-a-half, and when you spend that much time on the road, you learn a lot about yourself, the guys you are touring, the world and how to put together live shows.
"I feel like a different guy since then.
"You just learn a lot, and we felt there was a limitation on our live show. So from a music point of view, we wanted to create songs that we thought were more energetic and more lively."
The hard work that is put in to produce this album has made it all the more special for Preiss.
"Creating an album is really hard work, from writing recording, producing and all the other bits and pieces that go in to finishing an album.
"In your career if you do one album you are doing pretty good, if you do two, you are doing even better and if you do any more than that, then it is really something to proud of it.
"With this album, I am proud that we've got through it.
"If you want to create something that is of a high standard, then that is always going to be challenging and difficult, as that's the way it goes.
"If you make a piece of work, something you consider a piece of art, I don't know how you can really see it as being that good."
Husky will play in Launceston as part of their album tour for Ruckers Hill.
"'Expect a more upbeat, lively and dynamic show.
"But anyone that has seen us in the past, they have probably come to expect a certain sound from the band, and I don't think we've strayed from that much at all. We'll just try to do what we have always done."
