Convention organiser Mervyn Chilcott said that planning for the November 21-23 event, to be held at Scottsdale Performing Arts Centre, started 18 months ago.
"Bridport, Lilydale, North-East and Scottsdale clubs have combined to organise different sections of the event, with a committee overseeing the whole thing," he said.
"The convention will feature beyondblue's Leonie Young as guest speaker, as part of the Lions Australia Joining Hands with beyondblue campaign.
"The public is invited to hear her speak at 11.45am on the Sunday morning.
"Her address is to help raise awareness about the symptoms of depression and anxiety.
"How to maintain good mental health, where to get support locally and how to access free beyondblue resources will also be discussed."
Mr Chilcott said the convention was basically the annual meeting of Lions' clubs and includes the election of next year's district governor and vice district governor.
"Motions can be put forward for debate on Saturday, from those who want to change something about the club.
"Sunday's program starts with a remembrance ceremony, for all the Lions and Lions' partners who have died through the year.
"Robert Ravens, of Bridestowe Lavender Estate is Sunday's first speaker — he will be followed by Leonie and the convention will finish with a barbecue lunch."
Mr Chilcott said each of the state's 59 Lions' clubs would be represented at the convention.
