Following the temporary closure of the United service station in Cecilia Street for redevelopment, the town was left with just one source of Autogas, at the BP service station in Circassion Street.
BP recently made the decision to discontinue Autogas at their St Helens station, leaving the town with no source of Autogas.
However, quick action from the St Helens Chamber of Commerce and Break O'Day councillors has had the Autogas connection restored, ahead of the region's tourism influx over summer.
"Councillors and the Chamber of Commerce have been able to get into the right avenues and figure out what the problem was," Chamber of Commerce president Heidi Howe said last week.
"LPG has now been reinstated at the site until December 31, but we're working on having that date extended."
