The George Town Rotary and Community Doing Life Together events, to be held November 15 and 16, will include a semi-formal dinner and silent auction followed by a family fun day, both with a focus on mental health.
Event organiser Tam McLean said dinner attendees would be treated to a three-course meal, speeches from former beyondblue chief executive Leonie Young, Australia's strongest man Derek Boyer and Angels Goal's Chloe Cunningham and a silent auction filled with high-end items.
She said the family fun day offered a variety of activities suited to all ages, music, displays and the chance to talk to various mental health organisations.
"It's a chance for people to come out and make some inquiries in a friendly environment and a safe environment and find out things in a very relaxed environment," Ms McLean said.
Although there will be limited door sales, dinner reservations should be made as soon as possible, Ms McLean said.
