‘‘You look a lot older,’’ Reg Marron told recidivist Dane Andrew Clark, who sat in the dock in the Launceston Magistrates Court yesterday.
Clark had previously pleaded guilty to 22 offences, which occurred between June and August this year, after he was released from jail in May.
His offences were mostly driving and dishonesty charges, and include dangerous driving, attempted aggravated burglary, escape, having evaded police, possession of ammunition and two motor vehicle thefts.
During the attempted aggravated burglary, Clark urinated on the front door step of his intended victim’s house.
Clark also failed to do any of the 110 hours of community service he was ordered to do in June 2012.
Mr Marron said Clark could do ‘‘CMD lite’’ after he was found unsuitable for the court-mandated drug diversion program.
Clark had failed the program on a previous attempt.
Mr Marron said although Clark was suffering from the ‘‘ice scourge’’ sweeping the nation, no one had forced Clark to take it.
He jailed Clark for nine months, with five months suspended for 18months, backdated to August 12.
Mr Marron also fined Clark $600, placed him on an 18-month probation order and disqualified him from driving for 12 months.
In October 2011, Clark was jailed for two years after he committed a horror carjacking at Blackstone Heights while on parole.
Clark demanded that a female stranger drive him around, threatened her with violence and when she jumped out, he crashed her car with her four-year-old child in the back seat.
