Businesses in the mall are hoping that the addition of some lights will bring back evening diners over summer.
More trees are expected to look the same over the next few months as the Cityprom initiative continues.
Quadrant Mall restaurant Holy Guacamole owner Ollie Herron said he hoped this would bring more traffic through the area.
"We shut for dinners about three months ago because we just weren't getting the traffic through at night time," Mr Herron said.
"We've had a lot of regulars asking when we're opening for dinner again."
The restaurant is planning to reopen for dinner service over summer.
Restaurant manager Dave Swan said the lights were making the mall a more interesting place for the community to visit.
"It's about brightening the Quadrant Mall, making it a more lively space and trying to create a better environment," Mr Swan said.
"It looks really good so hopefully if we get the rest of the trees done it will look even better.
"It will hopefully bring more business for everyone here."
