Exeter High School year 8 and 9 students turned entrepreneurs this week for their tilt at the NextGen Business Team Challenge, an initiative that sees youth create and market a product within five days.
Yesterday's trade display day saw students spruik their creations to the public, before the final all-schools presentation last night.
The Tasmanian Thylacine Tea team emerged triumphant with its locally infused green tea blend that was marketed to Japanese consumers.
NextGen facilitator Adam Mostogol said he was impressed by the approach students took to make a name for their product.
"If this is what they are capable of in a week, then I can safely say the Tasmanian brand will be well-represented when these students start launching businesses."
This was the third year the competition had partnered with the Australian Maritime College and Tasmanian School of Business and Economics.
