Police were called to alleged armed robbery at 2.43am this morning.
The Moonah man was remanded in custody to appear in the Hobart Magistrates Court this afternoon.
Meanwhile, police are investigating a deliberately lit fire at the Willow Court housing establishment in New Norfolk last night.
The Tasmania Fire Service was called to a structure fire at an unused building on The Avenue about 7.30pm yesterday. The building was unoccupied at the time of the fire.
The fire was quickly extinguished adn the cost of damage has been listed as negligible.
Police would like to speak to anyone who may have been in the area of George Street or The Avenue between 6.30 and 7.30pm on Thursday and noticed anyone acting suspiciously.
