Today is Halloween, an annual event characterised by trick-or-treating, costume parties, pumpkin jack'o'lanterns, haunted houses and scary frights.
It has mostly been a tradition played out in the US but the trend is catching on in Australia.
Many events are now held across Launceston and the wider communities for people to get spooked.
For instance, dine on undead bread and graveyard sweetmeats at a Halloween Banquet at Bakers Lane, Launceston.
Dress in your scariest attire to attend the Halloween Roller Disco at Mowbray's Indoor Sport 'n' Skate.
Or tag along on the trick or treat trail by logging on to Facebook and checking out the Launceston Halloween trick or treat safe list.
Whichever event you dare to attend, stay safe, scream loudly, and be on the lookout for witches.
