Affording to police, Stewart was on a training ride travelling south on Tarleton Street at East Devonport just after 2pm today.
Outside the Argosy Motel, she was struck by a car from behind and knocked to the road.
Police say that the vehicle that hit Stewart stopped only briefly before leaving the scene.
"Macey was lucky to escape serious injury and has since been released from hospital," Constable Dean Wotherspoon said.
Police believe they have located the vehicle in question and it is being examined by forensic officers.
However, Constable Wotherspoon said police would still like to speak to anyone who may have witnessed the collision, saw a dark coloured sedan in the area, or who may be able to identify the driver of the vehicle involved.
"Police would particularly like to speak to the driver of the north-bound truck that had to stop suddenly to avoid the fallen cyclist," Constable Wotherspoon said.
Anyone with information is asked to contact Constable Wotherspoon of Western District Road and Public Order Services on 131 444.
