"We feel like it's the right time for us, as we don't really want to drag all this out," one half of the group, Guy Chappell, said yesterday.
"We don't want to outstay our welcome on the scene, we were thinking about it earlier in the year, and we just feel that now is the right time for us."
Ballarat boys Chappell and Gaz Harrison have been together since 2008, and Chappell said he had enjoyed the "very good run" they had.
They will start their aptly named final run of show, the Hoo Roo tour, with performances with performances in Hobart tomorrow and Saturday night.
"We're expecting it to be a really good night and a fun send-off for us.
"'We love coming to Tassie as every time we've come to Tassie it has been a great show, whether it has been a festival or our own show.
"We're not sure why so many people don't go and play in Tassie as it is one of our favourites places to play.
"We just want to say thanks to people to coming to our shows over the years."
