And who introduced this motion? None other than Bass Liberal MHR Andrew Nikolic.
He targeted groups such as The Wilderness Society, The Australian Conservation Foundation, The Bob Brown Foundation and all the Environmental Defender's offices.
On the state front, the government has called for expressions of interest in tourist development in Tasmania's national parks and other reserves.
Their "development" agenda will result in the removal of many current constraints on development.
So, from both levels we see even greater threats to Tasmania's wilderness.
