Called Furry Friends, Bell will share why his four-legged pals mean so much to him at Fresh in Launceston on October 31.
"It comes from watching a lot of David Attenborough when I was growing up, and mum teaching us to value living things," Bell said.
"That feeling is probably best encapsulated by my relationship with [now dead] pet guinea pig Custard.
"What we will look at is whether animals are better than people and look at the similarities and differences between animals and humans, by looking at things like religion, drinking, as well as my handyman skills.
"There is this part of the show where I have to make a decision on whether to support an orphaned African child or an orphaned killer whale, which says a lot about the show."
Bell said he was nervous having to perform for an hour, with his previous longest outing being 30 minutes.
"That is the really tough part for me, but I am looking forward to it and I think it will be a lot of fun," he said.
"My comedy is a bit of a mix, with one-liners, stories and animal facts in there.
"The one thing I do is have a lot of visual stuff throughout it, with pictures and slides of animals apparent throughout."
All proceeds from ticket sales go to the Sea Shepherd Conservation Society.
"What they are doing to protect the whales in the Southern Ocean, as well as protecting dolphins, I'm just a really big fan of," Bell said.
