The four-team competition sees Riverside take on Mowbray at Riverside and South Launceston plays Launceston at NTCA No.2 Ground.
Mowbray and Riverside will be fielding teams for the first time to enable the four-team, local competition to get up and running. Cricket Tasmania's game development officer for female cricket, Sam Cotton, was ecstatic to see the new competition in the North.
"A lot of work has been put into commencing this competition as previously teams played in the Cricket North-West competition travelling for over an hour to play a T20 Game," Cotton said.
"This is really positive for this region and will improve the pathway and opportunities for girls wanting to play this great game."
The Cricket North women's T20 games start at 4.30pm and spectators are welcome.
