The band, fostered by The Examiner, is in the running to win the opportunity to play at this year's Marion Bay Falls Festival.
Performing at the Pipers Brook Vineyard Unearthed in the Vines concert on Sunday, the band competed against six other acts for the chance to win cash and a live performance on Chilli FM.
A part of the North-East Rivers Festival, more than 300 people were out to celebrate the day.
Paper Souls member Sarah Triffitt said the band was trying to get its name circulating while voting continues.
"Not knowing how it's going anxiety levels are all pretty high and we're only 19 days into it," Triffitt said.
"We're super busy with gigs which has worked out really well with the last two weeks of voting and we're going to be able to reach a lot more people."
The band's second vocalist Luke Triffitt said the next few weeks would be full on.
"We're so pumped for it," Triffitt said.
"If we get a crack at it Falls will be pretty cool."
