Ice changed all that.

The Forth man will be sentenced in the Supreme Court next Wednesday after pleading guilty to cannabis trafficking, which the court yesterday heard was to fund his ice addiction.

It started when he was battling severe stress and anxiety due to a child's sickness and his partner's depression, Justice David Porter was told in the court in Hobart.

"It was suggested to him 'you might try ice because it will give you an energy lift and a boost'," defence counsel Tamara Jago said, via video-link from Burnie.

"He foolishly did. In his words, it was a drug like no other."

Ms Jago said Bramich's ice addiction became uncontrollable within " a few short weeks".

He started not turning up to his job at TT-Line, where he was a manager of customer service.

He lost his job, Ms Jago said, and his life spiralled out of control.

Bramich is now 32.

Ms Jago said for his first 29 years, he led a stable, normal, productive, healthy life.

"Within a few short weeks of when he first used this drug, he had developed a history of drug use and criminality," Ms Jago said.

Bramich has been in jail since July over other matters and faces 15 complaints in the magistrates court, some of which Ms Jago said would result in guilty pleas.

She said jail had been something of a relief to Bramich because it had forced him to be abstinent from ice. However, imprisonment had led to the breakdown of his relationship and he no longer saw his children. The cannabis trafficking charge followed a police search at Bramich's home in February 2013.

Crown prosecutor Jody Dennison said Bramich would buy cannabis and sell it at a higher price; often buying for $2000 and selling for $2500 to $2800.

Mr Dennison estimated Bramich sold $47,500 worth of cannabis over 12 months and made a $5000 profit.
