Petitioner Stuart Burr received support from 262 Dorset ratepayers in his attempt to have the track changed to a private access road with a maximum speed limit of 40km/h.

Mr Burr argued that thie change would allow the track to be used as a pushbike and walking track and would divert vehicular traffic to Carisbrook Lane, which he said was a state government road.

At Monday's meeting, councillors also:

· Received and noted the Dorset Council manager’s briefing reports. 

· Acknowledged the service of retiring councillors and invited them to address the meeting. 

· Received and approved variations to the Dorset Council annual plan 2014/2015 September quarterly report. 

· Endorsed the recommendations of the Community Grants Committee to allocate funds to the Bridport Textile Group, The Bridport Volunteer Fire Brigade and the Scottsdale Bowls Club. 

· Approved the following in relation to purchasers sale of Council owned land in Beattie Street and Spotswood Drive, Scottsdale: 

1: a rebate of $10,000 for first home owners that are approved under the State Governments First Home Owner Grant; and 

2: waiving of rates and charges for the first twelve months for non-first home owners that meet the Dorset Council Non-First Home Owners Incentive Program Guidelines. 

· Received and noted the annual financial statements for the year ended June 30, 2014. 

· Endorsed the Section 30J report on representations received during the public exhibition of the Dorset Interim Planning Scheme 2013 to be sent to the Tasmanian Planning Commission.
