The Morgan Poll has the ALP with a two-party preferred vote of 56 per cent, ahead of the Liberals on 44 per cent.
However, the poll shows the coalition narrowing the gap across the country, with a two-party preferred vote of 48 per cent, the closest result of the past six months.
Pollster Gary Morgan said the result reflected the government's strong stances in issues such as air strikes against ISIS, and standing up to Russian president Vladimir Putin.
"The media’s continuing focus on foreign affairs ... is giving the Abbott Government the chance to show leadership," he said.
The Liberals hold three of Tasmania's five House of Representative seats, compared with Labor's one.
