Victoria Healy, tell us about yourself – where did comedy start for you? Who, if anyone, inspired you?
My Dad is a comedian and he doesn’t even know it! He analyses everyday life and then responds to it hilariously, which is pretty much the job of a comedian.
Do you have a particular topic that you like to focus on when you’re performing?
Everything can be potential material. My latest topic has been about how we greet one another.
What has 2014 looked like for you so far?
The future!!! The machines are in position ready to take over. My smartphone is eyeing off my Aesop Hand Cream.
What’s in store for the next six to 12 months?
A comedian’s life is unpredictable. That said, I will most likely be performing to six people in an inner-city basement pub on a regular basis and call it paying my dues.
What is it like to be a comedian? What does your day/week/month look like?
Life is extreme. Highs and lows and so if you don’t have mental health issues when you start out, you’re bound to develop them! But it’s my calling.
Did you always plan on following a path in comedy?
Comedian, park ranger or pop star.
What can we expect from your shows?
Funny embarrassing stories, hilarious observations and a lot of eye contact.
