Among the golfers contesting the event on October 24 will be East Coast regulars Lindsay and Diane Harris.
Mrs Harris said the couple loved the tournament because, although the pair had never come close to winning and probably never would, it was an enjoyable, social event.
Co-organiser Kevin Wagner said the club was hopeful of attracting about 80 players.
‘‘Last year we had only about eight associates — women — out of 83 players, so we’re hoping to get a few more this year,’’ he said.
‘‘We already have about 35 players so far this year and the golf course is in good condition.
‘‘As usual, the event is an 18-hole Stableford competition and there will be three grades in the men’s competition and two grades for associates.’’
Entry fee is $25 and includes a sit-down lunch half-way through the tournament.
Mr Wagner said there was about $3000 worth of prizes, including a lucky draw prize of a $500 financial package from Crowe Horwath.
To register contact Mr Wagner on 0448542252 or by email at kebjwagner@bigpond.com by Sunday.
The festival includes events in nearly every town in Dorset starting with opening night frivolities at Winnaleah District High School on Friday and finishing with the Bridport 10 Fun Run and Legerwood Lane Hill Climb on October26.
