The East Coast lad travels each week with his parents to training and matches with the club, proving that dedication will win over boundaries, according to club president Colin Targett.
‘‘Connor was one of a group of young Tigers that enjoyed some success and secured a finals berth after missing our last season,’’ Targett said.
‘‘The early starts and late finished didn’t have any effect on Connor as he was successful in winning the best and fairest award for the under-19 team.’’
He said Longford veteran Teddy Williams was successful in achieving the reserve’s best and fairest with a clear victory.
Williams has played almost 400 games for the club and said he was proud to receive the honour.
‘‘I have really enjoyed the past year, playing with a few young blokes has been fantastic for me,’’ he said.
‘‘There is a great feeling around our club ... there might still be a bit of run in my old legs yet.’’
Longford’s Jake Murfett was awarded the seniors best and fairest accolade and is a third-generation player for the club.
Murfett started his season with a selection in the Tasmanian under-23 squad.
‘‘I guess I was born with yellow and black blood,’’ he said.
‘‘Awards like this are great, but footy is a team game and we are looking forward to 2015.’’
