Artentwine – an event created by the West Tamar Arts Group – has run workshops throughout the West Tamar region for  several months.

‘‘At the start of Artentwine I did some community consultation with craft groups throughout the Tamar and one suggestion was yarn bombing,’’  Wooltarts member Kitty Taylor said.

‘‘Wooltarts is a collection of people who responded to that call-out for people to knit.’’

Taylor said the group was comprised of a good mix of young and older people.

‘‘It’s been a lot of fun,’’ she said.

Fellow member Anne Young said weekly meetings with Wooltarts was a great way to spend time.

‘‘I’ve lived in the West Tamar for over 30 years and I’ve worked in Beaconsfield for a lot of time in that community,’’ she said.

‘‘I feel it’s so important to keep your interests up and your creativity – to have something to achieve creatively is such a buzz.’’
