LAWRENCE ARCHER
I am a farmer / tree grower, and a resident of Bridport for five years.
I support the further development of our valuable agricultural and forest resources, and promoting tourism and business opportunities throughout the Dorset region.
I will promote our coastal areas as great places to live, retire or visit.
I also have the experience to support the Mayor in his duty as leader of our community.
For fair and honest representation, please give me you no 1 vote for both Councillor and Deputy Mayor.
My contact phone number is 0419 357 852.
STEVEN ARNOLD
The opportunity to represent the electorate of Dorset as Councillor for the past 12 years has been a rewarding experience and I am seeking your support for a further term.
Whilst acknowledging that our community has endured difficult economic times you can be assured that I have continued to responsibly evaluate council business matters with the goal of achieving the best possible outcome for Dorset.
I am mindful of the need for a blend of old and newly elected representatives to ensure that the local government framework of corporate governance is understood and maintained.
CHRISTINE BOOTH
After 18 years in Dorset as a research scientist and teacher, I now run a Branxholm tourism business.
I will promote sustainable development, small business and real long-term jobs.
I will advocate for our fair share of Tasmania’s growing tourism, digital, education, aged-care, renewable energy and agricultural industries.
As a Green’s candidate I will provide strong and compassionate community representation.
I am passionate about our amazing Northeast.
I have the vision for what is possible and the skills to make it happen.
Together we can build a prosperous, sustainable future for Dorset.
PETER LEONARD GEORGE BOURNE
I am an aged care worker living in beautiful Bridport via internet romance.
I am an approachable family man with 3 children, 12 grand kids, a dog, cat and a few chooks.
Workwise, I have been a musician, events co-ordinator, small business owner and had 10 years volunteering with SES and CFS fire/ accident rescue.
My concerns for Dorset include water quality for residents/ tourism, second exit for Bridport, feral cats, and safe access for all ages to suitable off leash dog areas.
RONALD DOUGLAS BROWN
Hi, my name is Ronald Brown.
I have lived and worked in Dorset all my life.
I have 2 adult boys. I have been on the council for the last 3 years and have learnt so much.
I believe in the people of Dorset.
I would like to continue on the council as I believe we are going in the right direction. Thank You
KERRIE DONALDSON
Hello, my name is Kerrie Donaldson.
I am married with two adult children and have resided in the North East since 1996.
My background is in Banking, Administration and Retail and I have held numerous committee positions in local clubs.
Yes, Dorset has many assets and your council needs your ideas to continue building our area.
I am willing to serve you to the best of my ability as your representative for council.
MAXWELL ARTHUR HALL
After previously spending two terms on council, I now have the time to contest the upcoming election as both councillor and deputy mayor.
I am capable of listening to peoples needs and working with them to gain a satisfactory outcome.
To be able to do this, I am willing to dedicate my time to meet with the ratepayers regarding issues they may have.
I am committed to the future of the north east and think it is imperative for the areas employment potential in agriculture, tourism and forestry.
I will be a voice of the residents of the Dorset municipality.
GREG HOWARD
I am a farmer/forestry consultant who has lived in the North-East all my life growing up on a dairy farm at Tulendeena then moving onto beef/cropping farms at Forester then Jetsonville.
I have worked in forestry for the last 39 years firstly as a faller/machine operator then a trainer/assessor before starting my own consultancy company in 2000.
Both forestry and agriculture have been virtually unrepresented on council for many years and I am seeking your vote as Councillor/Deputy Mayor to help redress this situation as they are still two of Dorset's most important industries.
BARRY JARVIS
In my time on Dorset Council the Council has become more proactive and innovative in the way it seeks to stimulate economic growth in the municipality.
Whilst also being aware that the cost of delivering services to the community can't continue to rise unchecked, over the last 18 months around $500K has been stripped out of internal operating costs and this will continue to be a focus of mine if re-elected.
I ask you to please give me your no 1 vote so as to maintain a strong committed voice for Dorset.
DALE JESSUP
Dorset is in desperate need of development, investment and jobs.
There is enormous potential for forestry, agriculture and tourism industries to work together to achieve growth and prosperity for our region.
My long standing career in business management has helped me gain an extensive knowledge and understanding of our challenges and strengths.
I have a long history of service to the Dorset community as a life member of the Scottsdale Fire Brigade.
I am fully committed to my family, employment and community, if elected I intend to work tirelessly to ensure a great future for the North East.
MALVIN LOHREY
No statement available.
SHERYL MARTIN
I have been your representative for 9 years and I am the only experienced female seeking re-election in a role that is satisfying to assist people with issues, and to encourage those with vision and willingness to invest in Dorset.
Into the future there will be challenges for our Council, a new state-wide planning scheme, possible amalgamations and more cost shifting from the State Government.
We must be rid of as much red tape as possible so that our industries, agricultural, tourism and leisure activities can grow and create more jobs for Dorset.
I am standing as an Independent candidate.
SHAUN MOORE
It is with great joy and enthusiasm that I will be standing for position of councillor in this years election.
I was born and raised in this wonderful community of ours and I wish to commit to the long term future of Dorset by putting my hand up and making a stand for everyone.
I still live and work in the community as well as being current member of Surf Life Saving and other sporting and recreational clubs.
I strongly believe in employment and infrastructure and I ask for you to give me the chance to represent you.
PETER PATRIDGE
I am seeking re-election to council as I believe the Dorset Municipality offers many benefits as a residential area and has the natural resources capable of supporting industries such as: agriculture, timber and tourism.
Council has a role to play in promoting development and providing infrastructure such as roads and bridges.
I support the current programs of town beautification, active youth, natural resource management and community events such as: The Rivers Festival, Bridport Splash, etc.
I also support maintaining rates and charges as at an affordable level for our community.
TREVOR PRIESTLEY
Married to Alison with two adult children, I am a lifelong resident of Dorset, running our family farm at North Scottsdale, serving in various capacities on local undertakings, including twelve years with Scottsdale Apex.
Retiring to Bridport in 2003, I completed an arts degree at UTAS in 2010.
Dorset needs cohesive representation throughout the municipality, creating viable, sustainable job opportunities.
Without any political or interest group affiliations I am willing to listen to and represent the concerns of all residents in a practical and forthright manner.
LEON STANLEY QUILLIAM
My wife and I have lived in the Dorset Municipality for 30 years, over that time I have become involved in a number of organisations including the TFGA, board member Tasmanian Institute of Agriculture, President of NEFU, board member of Dorset EDG, member North East Lions.
I believe I am the person you can rely on in this municipality.
Those who know me will agree that my past record of achievements speak for themselves.
Give me your number 1 vote and together we will be able to make this beautiful community a better place to live work and play.

TONY SCOTT
Tony is an independent thinker whose background in media, State Government, forestry and tourism will be a timely addition to the council.
Having lived in the area for more than 20 years, he's passionate about Dorset and will be an articulate advocate of its cause.
He has fought for recognition of the North East through involvement in tourism administration at local and zone levels.
Despite imminent developments, he says tourism should be considered "the icing not the cake" in achieving a broader economic base.
He has served several school groups and supports the year 12 extension.
