Frontman Shane Collins describes the group as being ‘‘melodic’’ punk rock.
‘‘It is very emotive and quite heartfelt,’’ Collins said.
‘‘Being part of this band is just real good fun, as it is just hanging out with friends and travelling the country and having a good time."
The group released its latest album, Give My Body to this Town, and relies heavily on that heartfelt nature that Collins mentioned.
‘‘There’s a few themes in there,’’ he said.
‘‘Brisbane pops up with a few of the songs being about living in Brisbane, about friends, family, letting go and about me trying to find myself.
‘‘We’ve always been like that, with some very personal lyrics and has always been quite emotional.’’
’Til The Wheels Fall Off will feature an extravaganza of a line-up , with Luca Brasi, Linc Le Fevre & The Insiders, Jen Buxton, Ceres, The Sinking Teeth, Outright, Speech Patterns, Knife Hands, Ben David, The Sugarcanes, Georgia Maq, Isaac Bowen, Bec Stevens, Hounds of Hiroshima, Bennylava, Lic Le Fevre solo, Tom Lanyon and Luke Thomas all playing across three venues (Club 54, The Gunners Arms and Shots on Wax) on Friday and Saturday.
It will be Gifthorse’s first show in Launceston.
‘‘We have played a show with pretty much every band there and we are really good friends and pretty much brothers with Luca Brasi,’’ Collins said.
‘‘This is the one show we are looking forward to the most of our whole tour.
‘‘It should be a good time with some good people in a really comfortable atmosphere.
‘‘For us Steven (Scott), our guitarist, is pretty chaotic and likes to move around a lot and our drummer, Luke (Gal), will have his shirt off in the first five minutes.
‘‘We just really like to have a good time up there.
‘‘There will also be plenty of crowd participation with our set.’’
