Former Northern Bomber Bolton stepped into Hawthorn’s hot seat mid-year, coaching the club to five wins from as many matches as Alastair Clarkson was sidelined with Guillain-Barré syndrome.
‘‘I’d love to see him do it,’’ Birchall said.
‘‘He had a little five week patch at the club when he was the big dog and he really took control and really enjoyed it.
‘‘If he gets the opportunity to coach somewhere else, he’ll do a good job, I have no doubt.’’
Adelaide are on the lookout for a new coach after recently parting ways with Brenton Sanderson.
It is believed while the Hawks were in Tasmania yesterday celebrating its premiership triumph, Bolton was presenting his case to Crows board member Mark Ricciuto and the Crows’ coaching panel.
