This year’s show will celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Ford Mustang, with a special Mustang Alley feature display.
Modelling with a 1966 Mustang GT Coupe were past pin-up competition winners Hayley Keygan, aka Miss Cutie Patootie, and Mel Graccogna, aka Miss Cherry Bomb.
The pair, like many participants at the event, celebrate rock’n’roll nostalgic culture.
Rock and Rodz co-ordinator Wendy O’Keeffe said the show was encouraging its attendees to get daggy for a good cause.
‘‘It’s the year of the Hawaiian shirt, we’re asking everyone to dig theirs out of the closet for a chance to win a $100 Route 66 voucher,’’ Mrs O’Keeffe said.
‘‘Ultralux Hobart will donate $1 for every Hawaiian shirt worn to Camp Quality.’’
She said a tasteful tattoo competition, burlesque dancers, bands — including Melbourne’s Jump and Jive — and more would also be part of the day.
Mrs O’Keeffe said those who bring a pre-1970s Mustang will also go in the draw to win a lucky gate prize and trophy.
A display of nostalgic posters and film footage will also be held during the weekend, on Saturday and Sunday, at the Longford Town Hall.
