The Legerwood Hall and Reserves committee's Cindy Walsh said that children had been anxiously awaiting the arrival of the new equipment.
``Play-tas installed the new pieces on Wednesday, September 24, and the children made the most of the excellent spring weather and were extremely excited to put the playground to the test,'' she said.
``The committee wishes to thank everyone for their generous donations, which made this project possible.''
``The committee would also like to extend thanks to Padgetts for supplying quality pine bark at a reduced cost.
``The Legerwood Memorial Park is open to the public 365 days a year, so please come and enjoy it.''
The Walsh family and Lloyd Haywood donated time and machinery to excavate the site and level the soft-fall.
