Centre volunteers will be at hand to guide, inform and amaze visitors with facts and anecdotes about the area and its ongoing programs.
Parks and Wildlife Service Northern Region manager Chris Colley said the centre would host Launceston photographer St John Pound and wildlife carer Lorraine De Weys.
Mr Colley said Mr Pound would host a photography walk through the Wetlands and Ms De Weys would talk about her work and give people an opportunity to meet a pair of joeys.
‘‘The open day isagreat opportunity to visit the wetlands and explore this beautiful natural habitat,’’ Mr Colley said.
‘‘The reserve has three kilometres of trails, including a boardwalk that winds through the wetlands,a bird hide, interpretive centre and picnic and barbecue facilities.
‘‘There will be a range of activities for all ages, including art and craft activities for children, a scavenger hunt and barbecue on Tamar Island.’’
