Dr Sue Martin, a veterinary surgeon, was chosen from more than 300 women from rural and remote sectors across the country.
The scholarship is jointly funded by the federal government and the Australian Institute of Company Directors.
It covers course costs and travel expenses to attend the highly-rated company directors course.
Dr Martin said she was "thrilled and surprised" by the announcement.
"This will be a fantastic opportunity," she said.
"I was genuinely thrilled and quite surprised to receive it.
"It gives me a chance to reflect on how I operate in board positions and how I approach it in the future."
Dr Martin said she was yet to decide when she would undertake the course.
Australian Institute of Company Director's Tasmanian director Cathie Goss said the scholarship gives rural women an opportunity to achieve positions of leadership in their chosen fields.
"We're delighted that Dr Martin has won one of the scholarships," she said.
Launceston will host its second Company Directors Course from January 12 to 16 next year.
An information evening will be held at Deloittes in Cimitiere St on October 22.
