Northern Tasmanian Fishcare co-ordinator Quenton Higgs said that the organisation had 65 volunteers around the state, more than a third of whom were in the North and North-East.
"That area boasts a wonderful group of volunteers at places like George Town, Bellingham, Tomahawk, Musselroe Bay and St Helens which give us a broad coverage," he said.
"One of the things we haven't been able to do to date is get to the fabulous Flinders Island, but that's about to change.
"Launceston volunteer David Bye, our communications officer Sally Williams and I will be flying to Flinders on October 16 to present Fishcare to the Flinders Island community."
Mr Higgs said that they would attend the Flinders Island Show, on October 17, and present a talk on recreational fishing, sustainability and responsible fishing at the district high school on Monday, October 20.
"On the Tuesday, we'll go with the students on a responsible-fishing clinic to a fishing spot to be determined by the local experts, possibly Lady Barron wharf," he said.
"We're pretty excited about the prospect of getting over there and spreading Fishcare's Fish for the Future message."
Mr Higgs said that the organisation had operated in Tasmania since 1998 as a branch of Wild Fisheries in the Department of Primary Industries.
