The redevelopment plans were by ARTAS Architects, the same firm responsible for designing the new Port Sorell Primary School.
It includes the extension of two existing buildings to become ''Learning Plazas'', that will house social and informal learning areas, outdoor learning areas, project rooms, senior staff rooms and student amenities.
Other existing buildings will be completely refurbished, including the administration block, to add a student lounge, principals office and conference room.
Education Minister Jeremy Rockliff said the redevelopment included the former Rocherlea Primary School campus to create a single high school facility.
The school currently has 540 students enrolled, and 105 teaching and non-teaching staff.
Mr Rockliff said the proposals will redevelop Brooks High School for 21st educational service delivery.
''The redevelopment plans have been developed in close consultation with the school community, which is very supportive of the project to upgrade facilities at the school,'' he said.
''The proposal has been submitted to the Parliamentary Standing Committee of Public Works and will also need approval from the Pre-procurement Policy Board before tenders can be called.
Contract tenders will be called for in October, to be completed within a year.
