Centrelink threatens to punish and take away payments from those who do the wrong thing and not contact them.
But contacting Centrelink is next to impossible and the lucky few who can are also threatened with having their pension taken off them, despite doing the right thing according to Centrelink and the government.
Without defending welfare cheats, trying to report to Centrelink is so hard it's almost not worth even bothering.
If Centrelink wants to stop the cheats then giving those who want to do the right thing the ability to report is a great place to start.
