The pint-sized, 20-year-old Demi Lardner took out the top prize in last year's RAW Comedy competition, which saw her gain a spot in the 2013 So You Think You're Funny competition at Edinburgh, which she went on to win.
Lardner is known for her impressions and her deadpan irreverence.
Her 2014 Edinburgh show Birds with Human Lips scored her a handful of four-star (out of five!) reviews.
"Edinburgh was the best thing that's ever happened to me," Lardner said.
"Every single thing that happened was incredible, even the times when I just ate entire jars of peanut butter and groaned, but especially the times where I ate the standard amount of peanut butter and groaned slightly less.
"It was the most incredible, terrible, intense experience of my life."
Lardner had her first stand-up comedy experience at age 16.
"Getting onstage just seemed like the logical thing for me to do," she said.
"I started going to comedy nights and eventually introduced myself to a guy called Mark Trenwith . . . he sat down with me over a few weeks and helped me work on some of my first jokes, which was good because I feel like Lucifer himself may have hurled me into the depths of some kind of knife-based oblivion if I hadn't re-thought a few of those."
Her September 19 show will be Lardner's first visit to Launceston, and indeed Tasmania.
"I guess I'm just expecting the native animals to spin in little hurricanes and smash their faces into painted tunnels on the side of cliffs," she said, explaining her expectations for the island state.
"Also it's a rude shape. I'm looking forward to that."
And as for what we can expect from a Lardner show?
"I think it would be better if Launceston withheld their expectations for now and just let it happen to them.
"Like the first time you try salted caramel. Or chilli caramel. Or butt stuff in bed. Or pesto caramel.
"It's gonna be weird. Let's have an open mind, people."
● Demi Lardner will also appear at The Clubhouse in Hobart on Thursday, September 18.
