Late last month, members of Telstra's 'Check-In' team made stops in Huonville, New Norfolk, Bicheno and Campbell Town to allow customers to voice their concerns and questions to its staff face-to-face.
Telstra has admitted that regional clients often struggle with network issues because they are rarely able to speak with Telstra staff in person, due to travel distances between Telstra shops.
The successful visit was highlighted by a $1 donation to Whitelion for each customer spoken to during the four-day tour.
"Every donation helps, and it's important we can continue to do the work to support Tasmanian communities and youth," Whitelion Tasmanian state manager Lyndon Stevenson said.
Telstra Tasmania area manager Michael Patterson said the Check-In team was due to visit the state again in October and November.
"Although we have stores in most major regional centres we do recognise there are some customers who can't travel, sometimes long distances, to get to their closest Telstra shop," he said. "I hope tours like this will fill the gap for people who can't have their problems and questions solved over the phone and internet."
