The club won its sixth women's flag in the past decade with a come-from-behind victory against Japara and its 11th men's title since 2000 with a dramatic two-point defeat of Devils Black.

City guard Adam Davey, a member of all 11-championship winning teams, kept Black at bay through the middle quarters with a string of three-pointers and penetrating drives before teammate Mark Piercy took over in the fourth term, hitting a pair of clutch triples and a reverse lay-up to land the Lions a 66-64 win.

The match appeared to be heading for overtime when, with just 15 seconds left, Black centre Robert Jetson caught a fast-break pass on the edge of the key, but he had his game-tying lay-up waved away when he was called for travel.

The women's grand final also featured a close finish as City erased a five-point deficit at the last break through a barrage of three-pointers from Brodie Clark.

Gabby Mann also added six of her game-high 23 points in the final term to help the Rockets record a 67-59 win.

For Japara, Gemma Korpershoek and Belinda Stephens top-scored with 18 and 15 points respectively, including a combined 22 points in a rampant second quarter.

Rebels guard Ty Stewart and Devils forward Zoe Mitchell were rewarded for outstanding seasons by being named the league's most valuable players, while City pair Lachie Dennis and Molly Clark won the rookie of the year awards.
