The Breast Cancer Network Australia event will include a mini field of women display in support of the region’s breast cancer survivors.
An open invitation for the fund-raising event, which will include a barbecue lunch, has been extended to the Deloraine community.
Pink bowls organisers Rita Eastley and Meredith Wood said many members in the community knew someone impacted by breast cancer.
Ms Eastley and Ms Wood are encouraging bowlers, friends and breast cancer survivors and supporters to attend the fun social occasion.
Tasmanian Breast Cancer Network president Maureen Holland will also assist the club’s fund-raising effort.
‘‘Providing support for women and families affected by breast cancer is important for our local community,’’ Ms Holland said.
‘‘This Pink Bowls Day is an excellent opportunity for locals to rally together and offer their support to those affected – be it our mates, our family or perfect strangers. Every time a woman is told she has breast cancer, the impact extends to her family, friends and those around her in the community.’’
Entry to the event is $10 or $40 for a team. To register call Rita Eastley on 6362 2086 or Meredith Woods on 0418 126 630.
