Standage appeared in the Supreme Court in Hobart yesterday via videolink from Risdon Prison.
His appearance was in relation to one charge of cultivating a controlled plant for sale.
Police alleged Standage was growing an undisclosed quantity of cannabis at or around his Lake Leake property in 2010.
But prosecutors yesterday discharged the drug indictment.
Standage's girlfriend Elizabeth Lord also fronted the Supreme Court over drug charges yesterday.
Police had earlier charged Ms Lord with one count of trafficking over an alleged offence in 2010.
However, prosecutors also vacated their proceedings against Ms Lord.
Standage was last month sentenced to 48 years in prison for the murders of Ronald Jarvis in 1992 and John Thorn in 2006.
He was found guilty of both murders by unanimous jury verdict after one of the longest running trials in Tasmania's history.
Standage has launched an appeal against his conviction.
