Support for the Labor Party in Tasmania has jumped 8 percentage points, according to the latest voting intentions poll by Hobart polling company EMRS.

The increase in support for Labor, however, came at cost to the Greens, which suffered a drop of 5 percentage points to 16 per cent, down from 21% support in May.
The Liberal Government's support dropped 2 points to 46%, down from 48% in May.
EMRS chief operations director Samuel Paske said the poll of 1000 Tasmanians was conducted in the days leading up to last Thursday's state budget - between August 25 and 27.
“While the significant increase in support for the Labor Party comes predominantly at the expense of The Greens and not the Liberal Government, it is certainly an encouraging sign for the Labor Party when coupled with a decrease in support for the Liberal Party in consecutive polls,” said Mr Paske.
In the preferred premier polling, premier Will Hodgman maintains a healthy advantage over his rivals with 51 per cent support, compared with Labor Leader Bryan Green on 25%. The remaining 23% of respondents were unable to decide or voted neither.
