Well that makes sense.
By definition, diversity means not everyone is going to believe the same thing we do. Some people want to live in a diverse multicultural society, yet they expect everyone to share their politically correct opinions.
Anyone, who does not conform, is “narrow and close-minded”.
We cannot have it both ways.
In the debate about homosexuality and tolerance, we need to distinguish between tolerance of ideas or behaviour and tolerance of people.
For all their faults, our politicians can do this and can disagree without killing each other as they do in other parts of the world.
Multicultural Australia is founded on the assumption that people can hold different beliefs, believe others are wrong, and can still co-exist.
