Break O’Day Business Enterprise Board chairman Dina McGuiness and manager Nick Crawford were presented with $40,000 to help pay for new low cost services for small businesses including travelling expos, seminars and one-on-one training and information opportunities.
The centre is one of only three enterprises nationally to receive funding from the grants program this year.
``This is really exciting news for the East Coast – the centre is doing great things for its community and this money will help extend those services,'' Mr Hutchinson said last week.
Mr Crawford said that the enterprise centre would now be able to extend its information and support service beyond St Helens down the East Coast to Triabunna, Orford and Swansea.
The centre will also present a four day business ``expofest’’ in November which will be a business information road show
The concept takes speakers and information to business people in their own locations rather than them having to close shop or find extra staff to cover for the time they are away.
