The unique piece of Australian history is on a block of land with a modern home in Beveridge, a town about 40km north of Melbourne, that is on the market.
The timber and bluestone cottage is in a rundown condition and is heritage protected. It shares 3.5 acres with a four-bedroom federation-style family residence at 44 Kelly Street, Beveridge.
John 'Red' Kelly built his family's first home of what was initially two rooms using materials scavenged from bushland. Ned and his seven siblings spent their childhood in the cottage. The house was later sold with the next owners extending to its current size of nine rooms.
Rocco Di Battista from Ray White Craigieburn has the listing and the 3.5-acre property is open for inspection this weekend and through next week, and will be sold under the hammer on September 20 at 2pm.
