A YOUNGTOWN man will face a trial over allegations he murdered his nine-week-old daughter.
Brett Andrew Kitchin, 27, appeared briefly in the Launceston Magistrates Court yesterday via video link.
His lawyer Fran McCracken entered a plea of not guilty on his behalf.
Mr Kitchin's daughter died in the Royal Hobart Hospital from serious head injuries on February 6, four days after an alleged incident at her Deloraine home.
Mr Kitchin was charged earlier this month.
Several supporters of the defendant sat in the back of the court.
Magistrate Simon Brown committed him to trial in the Supreme Court in Launceston.
He will appear there at a later date.
