When Rotarian Carol Liefting found out how close they were, she couldn't wait to help out by offering to organise a trivia night.
With Rotary Club St Helens backing the idea all the way, and fellow Rotarian Jacqui Hume coming up with a name, Rotary For Life was born.
Rotary For Life will be held at the St Helens Football Club rooms on Saturday, October 4, from 6.30pm, with Ms Liefting promising a quiz that will test all comers, but "not so bad that you need three university degrees to figure out the answers".
"There'll be prizes for the winning team and a special prize from Hollybank Treetops Adventure that may be auctioned," Ms Liefting said.
Tables or places, at $15 a person, can be booked through Ms Liefting at Choc-A-Lolly.
There is a maximum of eight people a table, but those on their own are more than welcome to come along and to be seated with others.
Places must be reserved by Tuesday, September 30 and payment for your table or ticket will also be required before the night.
As there may not be room for walk-ins, people are urged to book early to avoid disappointment.
The bar will be open — beer, wine and soft drink will be on sale - and a light supper provided.
Anyone wanting to make a contribution is asked to contact Ms Liefting at Choc-A-Lolly on 6376 2977 or email to chocalolly@westnet.com.au.
Trivia night inquiries and bookings can also be emailed through.
