The blue-donning Crooked Butchers clashed with the red-wearing Swiss Army Wives in a friendly, but competitive, home ground play-off.
Both teams are branches of Northern derby league Van Diemen Rollers.
Swiss Army Wives roller Kristy Lane, or Booty-Full, was geared up and ready to rock her first match.
‘‘It’s fun, it’s full-on,’’ Ms Lane said.
‘‘Everyone’s fully supportive — I’ve been training for about nine months.’’
Its motto says it all: ‘‘Stay together, stay strong, find a friend and hit the b----’’.
Crooked Butchers captain Jasmine Gaul, who rolls as Slambi, said a quick 15-minute warm-up was all it took to get the blood pumping for the showdown.
‘‘There’s four newcomers here tonight, three on one team and one on the other,’’ Ms Gaul said.
‘‘It’s been a long time coming for these girls.’’
She said beginner information sessions for men and women aged 17 and older would be held at Burnie PCYC today at 6pm, and at Mowbray Sport’n’Skate tomorrow from 7pm.
