George Town Chamber of Commerce secretary Terri Cameron said the George Town 2014 Business Excellence Awards had attracted more votes than ever.
Almost 1500 votes were cast.
"We're moving in the right direction and engaging
"It was a terrific night and we had a really, really strong field."
Ms Cameron thanked Bell Bay Aluminium for its generosity and said the chamber hoped to attract even more interest next year.
"It's the only event we've got in our community calendar that celebrates businesses and the people who work in our businesses and I would like to see it become a big annual event," she said.
